Hygiene & safety

How do you ensure device hygiene? +

Three-stage preparation between clients: 1) wipe-down with healthcare-approved disinfectant (quaternary ammonium compounds), 2) UV-C sterilisation at 254 nm for 180 seconds, 3) replacement of the inner silicone liner on masks. The liner is in direct contact with skin and belongs exclusively to the current renter.

Do I get hygiene confirmation? +

Yes. Every device comes with a signed Hygiene Preparation Certificate listing the date, the person who prepared it, and the serial number of the UV-C unit.

Is red light therapy safe? +

Yes, provided you follow the manual. All devices are CE-certified (CurrentBody also holds FDA clearance). Do not look directly at the LEDs without the protective goggles provided. If you are pregnant, or taking photosensitising medication (e.g. certain antibiotics, isotretinoin, St John's Wort), consult your doctor first — otherwise this is an exceptionally safe therapy.

Results & usage

How soon will I see results? +

Fresh, hydrated skin: 2–3 weeks of daily use. Visible smoothing of fine lines and a more even skin tone: 8–12 weeks. For acne, improvement is usually noticeable within 4 weeks. Clinical studies use protocols of 10 minutes every other day for 12 weeks.

How often should I use the device? +

One session per day, 10 minutes (masks) or 10–15 minutes at 15–30 cm distance (panels). Multiple sessions per day do not accelerate results — cells need time to respond.

Should my skin be clean before use? +

Yes. Gentle cleanse, rinse and pat dry. Apply serums and creams after the session — their absorption is improved after 10 minutes of light therapy.

Can I combine it with retinol or acids? +

Morning: moisturiser/SPF without retinol. Evening: red light therapy, then your routine. Do not apply retinol or AHA acids immediately before a light session — skin may be more sensitive. A 30–60 minute gap is ideal.

Booking & payment

How does payment work? +

Online by card (Stripe). The rental fee is charged; the deposit is only held as a pre-authorisation. Once the device is returned in good condition the hold is released immediately.

What is the minimum rental period? +

Masks: 7 days. Panels: 21 days. Shorter periods do not make logistical sense — and you would not see any effect anyway.

Can I extend the rental? +

Yes, at any time before it ends. We send you a one-click extension email the day before the return date. Extend for 3+ months and you get a 15% discount.

Can I buy the device after renting? +

For the Glowbee Essential mask yes — we deduct 50% of what you have already paid in rent. For premium masks we refer you to authorised distributors in the Czech Republic (we are not authorised resellers).

Deposit, liability & insurance

Why is the deposit so high? +

The deposit covers the full value of the device. It is fair to us (no need for theft insurance) and to you (lower monthly rental). It is a card hold only — no money leaves your account.

What if I damage the device? +

Normal wear (minor scratches, slightly reduced LED brightness after months of use) is not charged. Serious damage from misuse (broken electronics, cracked silicone, liquid damage, drop damage) is handled proportionally based on repair or replacement cost. Only the actual damage is deducted from the deposit.

What is the legal basis of the rental? +

A rental agreement under §2201 of the Czech Civil Code — concluded online at booking. You receive the contract as a PDF by email and can download it from your account at any time. It clearly defines liability, timelines and the complaints process.

What if the device is stolen? +

You file a police report and provide us with the official document. The deposit is forfeited to Glowbee. We recommend keeping the device out of sight when not in use. If your contents insurance covers rented property, we are happy to assist with the claim.

Delivery & location

Where do you deliver? +

Prague within 24 hours, free of charge (courier). Outside Prague via Zásilkovna / DPD (+ 149 CZK each way). Personal collection in Josefov available by arrangement.

Can I take the device on holiday? +

For masks yes — you are responsible for them as at home. For the panel (fragile, large packaging) we recommend against it. Any damage in transit is handled according to the rental agreement.
